by freeman
Laguna Beach, CA Oct 16, 2004 -- Patients and supporters rallied in Laguna Beach on October 16th, 2004 to protest the Federal Government's failed war on drugs. Judge Jim Gray, Libertarian candidate for U.S. Senator was present to speak in support of medical cannabis and against the current policies of the Bush administrration.
Also present, after his six year odyssey through the California prison system was Marvin Chavez Sr., founder of the Orange County Patient, Doctor, Nurse Support Group. Mr. Chavez remains unapologetic for the actions leading to his arrest and conviction in 1998, saying, "For the cause of Prop.215, I do not have any regrets. I am still committed to medical cannabis. I will not allow a group of misguided individuals to imprison my mind and spirit. I am back."
The event was sponsored by the November Coalition, Orange County NORML and the Orange County Patient Doctor Nurse Support Group.
