Foley Sentenced to Federal Prison |
Although panzer had some good points to make, it really seemed as if the judge had her mind made up before entering the courtroom. What can you expect from a federal judge? in her mind she was cutting me some slack. You've got to know that all day long she sits up there and hands out 10-year, 20-year and life sentences. She gave me a couple of "points" for accepting responsibility and gave me the least she could under the sentencing guideline. 5 months inside, as unpleasant as that will be is not the end of my career, its only another chapter on what has continued to be a wild ride. The crackdown on medical cannabis over the last couple of years has brought us closer together, made us stronger and more determined than ever to fix what everyone knows is broken with the federal system of justice. Many people live their whole lives and never get to experience the thrills, victories, defeats and sense of community that we all sometimes take for granted. There is a larger picture that everyone must look at. Don't forget the P.O.W's that are serving really hard time and take heart in some of the things that Judge Chesney did say. her mentioning jury nullification as means to achieve our ends made Prosecutor George "weasel boy" Bevans squirm. We are making headway in this war and we all know that we will win because we are right. Without friends like all of you this would be a much more unbearable situation. I would like to say a special thanks to my friend and attorney Bill Panzer who has stood by me and worked pro-bono this whole time. A more dedicated council money could not buy. thanks to all of you who have taken Robyn and I into your family circles and have helped us survive through this difficult time. It is really a privilege to know all of you and be counted as a peer among you. We love you. I've got until June 9th to surrender, so until then see you on the streets! Peace, Love and Solidarity, Michael Foley
