| I am an AIDS patient living in California. Our cannabis laws were updated and voted in by the state in 1996. I depend on the life-giving herb to help me get through the day. It has already allowed me to do away with several FDA approved prescriptions. For 18 years I have been positive with AIDS and I realize that marijuana has been a very good medicine that's allowed me to live a normal life. If that's the goal of medication, it's done a very good job. I sleep normally, I eat regularly, and don't focus on the idea that AIDS could have been fatal to me. In 1993 when a doctor told me that I had a strange AIDS related pneumonia and only six months to live, with the help of a god given herb I went on believing that I would live on. My doctor and I are both pleased with my health so why should some DEA person come in and arrest a bunch of poor and disabled people; putting them in jail and making slaves out of them. The end of prohibition will come when conservatives realize that consensual treatment agreements between doctors and patients are not for the government or big business to control. I want to end this war on drugs so that we can create a healthy, sane environment for our children where nobody goes into our prison system for possession or personal use of medicinal drugs. We as Californians strongly suggest that our federal government worry about our national security rather than our doctors or medical pot pharmacies that have successfully implemented under prop 215. an AIDS patient who needs medical pot, Thomas Coy |
